Done carefully, reinstated neatly
We use compact diggers and narrow buckets to keep trenches tidy and limit disruption to lawns and borders. Turf is lifted and set aside where possible, so the ground can be put back afterwards. Trenches are dug to the correct depths, with warning tape and sand bedding for cables and pipes where required, and backfilled and compacted once the services are laid.
Working with your electrician or plumber

Frequently asked questions
How deep should a cable trench be?
Armoured cable in gardens is commonly laid at around 450–600mm deep, and deeper under driveways. Your electrician will confirm the depth required and we dig to it.
Will trenching ruin my lawn?
There is some disturbance, but we lift turf where possible and reinstate it afterwards. Lawns usually recover within a few weeks.
Can you dig under a driveway or path?
Yes. We can cut and lift paving or tarmac, dig the trench and reinstate the surface, or use ducting so future cables can be pulled through.
